SOURCES

Battles for the Hanko front are over. Marshal Mannerheim inspects the troops in Harparskog 15th of December 1941

- As far as I know, none of these books or other archive material has been translated into English. However in order to make some sense out of the sources to English speaking people, I have provided a rough translation of the source inside the closures.

- None of these sources give a full picture of the Hanko Front or Harparskog-line. The best source above all is the History of the Hanko Group, which was edited by Lieutenant Nikulainen in 1942. The pile of papers, which can be found from the Military Archives of Finland, is a huge one, but the text is a really easy one to read.

- It is quite surprising that the historic has not been published, as the text would be nearly ready for publishing. Of course it is based to the estimations made in 1941 and in 1942 and the current history writing might prove some of the claims a wrong one. In any case, it does give a good and interesting picture how the soldiers back then saw the situation and how they felt.
