ORDER OF THE NAVAL FORCES: DISBANDING THE HANKO GROUP, PART I

23rd of March 1942
1. With reference to the letter of Naval Forces staff regarding the reorganizing of the Navy, the Hanko Group must be disbanded. The task which concern reorganizing, must be carried out under the command of Hanko Group commander so, that there is no disturbance in the defence of Hanko Cape, collecting the loot, construction projects and that the change into a new formation and units will go as smoothly as possible. The Hanko Group staff will help with this task and it will be the last one to be disbanded.
2. The staff of military administration will remain as it is now, although taking in account what is being said in the point five, about motor vehicles, which has been ordered under the administration. Also maintaining order will be moved completely under the command of military administration. The personnel, which is needed for this, will be provided by the fort. 3. For the defence of the Hanko Group area, the Hanko Group fort will remain functional as a Hanko fort (Halsto). The commander of the fort will be Colonel Lieutenant J. Wickström.
4. The Hanko fort will remain under my command at the time being. Only the
matters, which relate to the mobilization, will be under the command and supervision of Nylands
Coastal Brigade.
5. For the loot, which can be found from the rental area and can be used as well as the use of prisoners of war a separate loot office will be attached to the staff of the fort. This office will be combined from the different units, which remain in the area. The task for the guard and loot office is to collect the loot, catalogue and store it and evacuate it by using the prisoners of war as a help in this task. The supplies for the office will be handled by the Hanko fort.

remains are visible from the road.
