COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF'S ORDER OF THE DAY, N.O. 34
7th of December 1941
- The area of Hanko is again in our hands. The humiliating blackmail which was forced on us in the forced peace agreement of Moscow, has fallen here also to
its own injustice. This vital and precious area which was the heart of our country and was a threat to the whole Baltic Sea, was taken from us under the guise of renting, but is again in our hands, although devastated.
- I thank for the brave soldiers of the Hanko Group, who despite of being outnumbered still have defeated the enemy threat with their unyielding toughness and have inflicted huge casualties and finally have closed the area and forced the enemy to retreat and have liberated the area of Hanko back to it's owners.
- The German operations in the area of Baltic Sea and in the Gulf of Finland have vitally affected to the capture of this powerful enemy base, which was build to Hanko. In the excellent cooperation with the Finnish forces, the German Navy and Air Forces have suffocated the actions of enemy Navy and at the same time have reduced the meaning of Hanko base. To the German soldiers who have participated to these actions, I want to express my gratitude and admiration.
- Especially I want to express my gratitude and appreciation to the brave Swedish men, who in the hour of need for the sister nation, were again willing to fight and sacrifice themselves for the future of Finland and for the whole Scandinavia. The meaning of the Swedish volunteers in the Hanko
Front has been significant and vital. It has performed its task with the courage and unyielding toughness of northern men. This old brotherhood of arms has grown even firmer and will bind us together with internal ties, which is founded on the fate of our nations in the past centuries.
Mannerheim

-
A pile of stones is all that is left from the structure 454.

-
According to the map symbols, the structure would have been an
accommodation bunker/dugout.

-
The structure has been a rather big.
- Even as the structure itself has collapsed, there is
still a pit in the middle of the stones.
