MINED POSITION

 

EXCERPT FROM THE FLIGHT LOG OF RECONNAISSANCE AND BOMBER FLIGHT

1st of December 1941

- Reconnaissance flight: 1.12.1941. Time: 09:15 - 11:00. 

- Observations: One new Fugas-class ship spotted in the north side of Russarö. Yesterday there was one Fugas-class ship in the north-east side of the island. This ship was anchored. Distance from the shore was about 500 meters. On the north-west side of the ship was one minesweeper. In the west side of the island Meijerfeltspåste is one transport ship anchored. Yesterday two smaller ships were spotted in the north-west side of Högholmen near of the shore. These were most likely icebreakers.

- The communication trench, which leads to the position, has been buried under vegetation. The trench has been mined to a rock.

- The same position seen from another direction. Soil has accumulated into the position.
