ORDER OF THE HANKO GROUP, 9/R, PART II
(History of the Hanko Group, T-22005, Military Archives of Finland)
(ORGANIZING RECONNAISSANCE AND OBSERVATION FOR THE ENCIRCLEMENT OF HANKO, WHICH IS BECOMING EMPTY)
3rd of December 1941
- It must be forbid to the troops, to move away from the roads, which are assigned for them, due to the mines. The troops cannot start to look around the enemy dugouts, batteries, houses or things like that, before the areas have been
cleared from mines and booby-traps by the engineers. With this matter, I held the officers accountable that this ban is obeyed. I also would like to point out, that according to the orders received from headquarters, it is forbidden to take private loot and that commander-in-chief has given similar declaration.
3. Section Hilo will arrange reconnaissance and observation, which is needed to the island groups of Gunnarsören and Dödö, finally extending reconnaissance even to Russarö.
4. Section Brolo will arrange the reconnaissance to the small islands in the north-western area of Hanko Cape, extending this to Kadermo in west and to Byö in east. Additionally the coastal area of Hanko Cape in the north-western area inside the assigned area, is within the responsibility of Brolo.

Chief of Staff: Major J. Kiveliö.
