COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF'S ORDER OF THE DAY N.O. 35, PART II
(History of the Hanko Group, T-22005, Military Archives of Finland)
7th of December 1941
- I express my gratitude and great appreciation to the commander of the volunteer battalion, Colonel Lieutenant G.H.
Berggren and to each of the officers, non-commissioned officers and to the men. You have performed your task with the courage and unyielding toughness of northern men. Ignoring the burden like men and being located a long way from your relatives in the land of your sister nation, you are a living proof and example of the noble and heroic people of your nation.
- With a warm thoughts and devotion I remember those noble Swedish heroes, who have sacrificed their lives in the battle for our common cause, for the future of Scandinavia. I also remember with gratitude of those volunteers who have been wounded and those who have in the battle lost their ability to work.
Finnish people will remain grateful eternally.
