THE LAST RUSSIAN BASE IN SNALO SECTION, PART II

(History of the Hanko Group, T-22005, Military Archives of Finland)

3rd of December 1941

- When the boats reached the line of Gråhara – Öklubben, the anti-tank in Hästö-Busö opened fire. First the enemy fired only few shots, but after that few series were directed against the boats. At that time two shells hit one of the boats. Section Vanne thought it best to return and were back in Långholmen at 13:05. The artillery was ready to fire constantly, but as the shots fired in Hästö-Busö couldn’t be heard in Björkholmen where the fire control position was located, the artillery didn’t open fire.

Corporal H. Hartella and Major L. Henriksson.
