THE FIRST ACTIONS IN THE SNALO SECTION, PART II
- Two pits near of the main road in the area, is all that remains from the accommodation dugout 424. The edges of the constructions are still covered with stones.
- Second structure. It is most likely that the description part for the structure 40, a & b from 1955, means these two constructions and not the finished gun positions. The description part states that there is two mined structures with a size of 5x5x3 meters. That particular size matches to these remains. The gun positions are located within twenty meters up hill. How come no one in 1955 climbed few meters up hill is a mystery to me, as these do not look like a gun positions and are located in a very strange place for being a gun position. In any case, it would have not changed anything at all even if they had climbed few meters, as these would have been still covered with moss and other debris and the parapet for the gun positions would have still cracked under the weight of time. Now the notes from 1955 just made another interesting puzzle for this research.
- These two accommodation dugouts provided shelter for the gun crews.
- One of the two dugouts seen from the front side. The remains is a very distinct from the road.
- At the bottom of the dugout remains. |
