FORTIFICATION CARD FOR THE STRUCTURE 309

Structure number: 309

Structure

?

Sector center line

State of readiness (1942)

Remark (1942)

Remark (1955)

 The mined structure is ready.

Note

There is no fortification card for this structure from the year 1942. I assume, that the Finnish Defence Forces made a mistake in 1955, when making the description parts. They most likely assumed that the mined structure of 229 (44) is structure 309. This assumption is backed by the fact, that there is no description part for the structure 229 (44). Also when comparing the map symbols and firing direction, this assumption is confirmed. The structure type is marked with a question mark in the description part.

Dated: 28.3.1955

- The first inventory in the Harparskog-line was made in 1942, when the Finnish Defence Forces made the first fortification cards for the structures in Harparskog-line. In 1955 the structures in the defensive line were inspected once again and at that time, description part for the original fortification cards were made. The description from 1955 gives very detailed information about the structures, as there's even a full inventory what should be in the structures and what is missing.

- Notes are based on my own personal observations in the defensive line during the years 2005 & 2006.
