EXCERPT FROM THE FLIGHT LOG OF RECONNAISSANCE AND BOMBER FLIGHT
(History of the Hanko Group, T-22005, Military Archives of Finland)
30th of July 1941
- Distributing propaganda leaflets: 30.7.1941. Time: 22:00 - 23:50.
- Mission: Flying altitude at the start of the mission was 1800 meters. When reaching Öby area we were flying at the altitude of 1000 meters. We started to drop the propaganda leaflets from the area of dynamite factory at 22:40. We stopped throwing out the propaganda leaflets in the area if Lindnäsudd. Judging from the smoke, the wind was blowing from north or north-west. A two-floor building is on fire in the area of the dynamite factory. A heavy fire was also spotted west or north-west of the building in the shoreline. While heading back a heavy caliber AA-guns opened fire from the island group of
Kadermo. The whole southern side of the Hanko Cape is covered in thick smoke. I couldn't use that area to return to the airfield, so I chose to fly back using the arrival route. As the visibility was getting lower I was forced to lower my altitude constantly and finally flied at an altitude of 100 meters. I had drifted a lot to west from my original direction and I started to look for
a familiar reference point. At 23:50 I noticed the small village of Salo and decided to land to 04. The 04 was illuminated and I landed to it at 23:50. From there I finally returned to 06 on 31st of July 1941 at 05:40.

- Structure 253 cannot be found from the area.
However old farmhouses are located in the area, which have offered enough
accommodation areas for the troops.

-
Some of the structures, which cannot be found from Harparskog-line, might
have been build in a way which is shown in the above picture. There isn't
anything that would remain over sixty years in the terrain from tents and
other temporary structures. (Picture: R. Grandell. Published 1942 in a
