EXCERPT FROM THE FLIGHT LOG OF RECONNAISSANCE AND BOMBER FLIGHT

5th of August 1941
- Reconnaissance flight: 5.8.1941. Time: 05:00 - 06:15.
- Observations: Reconnaissance performed to the grids H 12500, H 12600, H 11900, H 11100, H 49600, H 49500, H 11000, H 11800 and from the grid H 11200 the lower sub-grids of 1 to 3. This reconnaissance was performed from 05:15 to 05:45. The visibility is good. No ships were spotted. There
are three fires in the area Hanko, Tvärminne and Täktom. A tall black and gray cloud was rising from small area in
Lappohja.
- At 05:55: The patrol ship in grid H 13349 remains stationary. There is a convoy in the grid H 13360. The convoy consists of the following ships in order: Three smaller destroyers, possibly
Fugas-class minesweepers? Four large transport ships, one submarine and two G-class destroyers. The G-class destroyers seemed to be a rear guard, which were covering the convoys approach to the coastal channel. Additionally three motorboats were guarding the left flank and two motor boats the right flank. Convoy is heading to the direction of 105 degrees.

- The structure 247 has retained its shape very well all through the
years. It is a very easy job to recognize the shape of the construction
from the forest.
- The entrance into the construction can be also pointed out from the
remains. It is located in the upper left part of the picture.

The round shape of the construction can be pointed out easily.
- Picture taken at the bottom of the remains and towards the entrance,
which is located nearly in the middle of the picture.
