COMMUNIQUÉ 20.07.41 - 21.07.41, PART IV

(Communiqué and reports of the Hanko Group units, T-16432/1742, Military Archives of Finland)

21st of July 1941

- At 00:15 o'clock the enemy fired twelve 75mm shells to Lillkrokan as well as mortar grenades. No damages. Hästö-Busö has been firing Jussarö. No damages has been resulted from this.

- During the evening and night, our own artillery was in action, firing enemy held islands. Effects from the artillery fire was observed everywhere. Large fires were started in Hermansö, Lappohja and in Koö. Artillery also fired to the sout-west side of Lindgrens, from where the railroad artillery most likely has been firing. It is possible that the railroad has been extended to there. The Täcktom airfield was also fired with artillery. A fire was started, perhaps an oil fire, because the smoke was very thick. The Tvärminneträsk field has been also fired by our artillery. In the west archipelago some VM-boats and towing boats have been observed. Most likely these are taking care of the traffic to the occupied islands.

- A quite large dugout remains, which is filled with water. A remains from a possible embrasure is still visible as a depression on the left side of the remains. This remains would suit to the general location of the structure 241.

- The dugout is located right next to the road and has provided a good view to the Blomsterholm and to the foreground of the trench line in front of the Blomsterholm.

- Corner section from the dugout peaks out from the water.

- This is most likely the remains from the accommodation dugout 241, a.

- Going a bit further away from 241, a, gets you to another dugout remains. This is located quite far away from the actual structures of 241. Still in between of these are few firing positions for rifle men.

- Second dugout remains right next to the previous one.
