EXCERPT FROM THE FLIGHT LOG OF RECONNAISSANCE AND BOMBER FLIGHT
- Structure 220 can be found exactly from the spot, where the fortification map indicates it to be.
- The edges of the structure are still visible, even when the structure has been partly filled.
- The same dugout remains seen from the front side. The entrance is located in between of the firs.
- Additionally there is some iron parts on top of the nearby rock. These have been attached to the rock itself. Most likely there has been an observation tower on top of the rock. The fortification map also indicates that the area has contained observation and fire control nest.
- Only the rusted parts remain about the observation and fire control nest, which was located next to the structure 220.
- The area might have contained a similar tower as seen in the picture above. There have been several towers like this one in the Hanko Front. None of these have survived intact. (Picture: The Finnish Defence Forces. Published 1942 in a book Kampen om Hangö)
