FEINT ATTACKS, PART III

(History of the Hanko Group, T-22005, Military Archives of Finland)

21st of September 1941

- Lieutenant Fagerström the intelligence officer of Snalo section comments in his war diary that this feint attack was very successful. The few positions, which had been noticed early, could now be verified. Few nights after the first feint attack, this fire works was performed again, this time using it as a practise for the artillery and the infantry in the Danskog sub-section. The enemy however remained without any action all. Only few flares were fired. But when this feint attack was repeated in the Elgö sub-section, there was a different sound in the bell. Groups of white and red flares were fired and the Russian artillery and infantry weapons started firing heavily.

Corporal H. Hartella and Major L. Henriksson.
